Club Dinner - Bill Page
DAVID TRICK JOINS THE LINE UP FOR THE 'WYCOMBE DINNER'
Former Bath and England jet-propelled wing, David Trick, is to speak at the Club Dinner on Friday 16th April - along with World Cup winner and TV and Radio personality Matt Dawson.
'Tricky' played 247 games for Bath, scoring 171 tries and was a member of the England squad from 1980 to 1986 - playing 12 games and scoring 11 tries.
In his youth he was the English National Junior Sprint Champion - recording 10.4 seconds for 100 yards but turned to rugby when he realised that he preferred late nights and beer to training and orange squash.

Club Dinner 2010 - Bill Page
Our main guest this year is MATT DAWSON M.B.E. - one of the finest players to have worn an England shirt and now hugely well known for his various media activities.
'Daws' is a local lad and an old boy of the RGS – our spiritual home as the club developed from the Old Wycombiensians. His club career started with Northampton Saints (1991/2004) and continued with a highly successful spell at London Wasps until he retired in 2006. Matt is England’s most capped scrum half (77 caps) and captained the side on 9 occasions. He has played on three Lions tours – and who will ever forget his scintillating try in the first Test in South Africa in 1997 or his pass to Jonny that won the RWC 2003 ? Matt is now in his sixth year with BBC’s ‘Question of Sport’ and this multi talented fellow won their Celebrity Masterchef contest in 2006 and came second in ‘Strictly Come Dancing’.
The ‘supporting cast’ will be announced in due course so do keep an eye on the club website – www.hwrufc.com
This is now the ‘Club Dinner’ and open to all paid up members and we anticipate the usual strong demand of recent years ; it is therefore vital that we again return to the RGS where we have the space to operate. As stated our early roots are very much within the Royal Grammar School and our grateful thanks again go to the headmaster Roy Page (no relation !) and his team for their help and support.
The entrance to the Royal Grammar School is in Hamilton Road and there is plenty of parking – both in Hamilton Road (opposite the school) and within the school itself. We are starting at 6.45 p.m. for a 7.45 p.m. prompt sit down. The ticket price will remain at £47.50 per person as our contribution to economic recovery! This is the club’s main fundraising event of the year and your support will be hugely appreciated. As with all organisations this is a very challenging time for the club’s finances and we have a number of new and vital projects in mind to continue the process of modernising and raising the standards of our facilities. Do come and join us at the RGS!
Please return the form below as soon as possible, with your cheque. This year we are categorically not accepting any bookings by email or telephone – the only method of booking is by returning the attached form by post with a cheque. Members taking a lot of guests would be best advised to aim for 6 or 12 people. As ever the system is 'first come, first served' and we will never make an exception to this.
Dress code is lounge suit or blazer or smart jacket – and tie. Your tickets will be posted to you in early April, along with other information.
