Beer Festival Update - Nick Kidby
11/12 July 2008 probably the biggest event in the HWRUFC calendar for some time?
Anyway club tourists and members wishing to go on the Chile Tour in 2009 need to contact Alex Wells, Ross Mackerron & myself to volunteer your services for some valuable time to assist us over the two Day Beer Festival. This event is to raise awareness of the Tour, our Club and raise some money for the trip. We should try and have an enjoyable weekend in 'glorious mid summer' with our friends, family, & club mates to promote our club in the local community and celebrate in the best way possible.
We are staging a Tug of War event on the Saturday 2pm to encourage a little competition to the festival and will be giving away some pretty good prizes. The winners of the "Tug of War" will receive a Cup to hold for a season, medals to keep and not least a barrel of Beer, obviously to drink! If you can raise a team call Ross & Alex to organise. The event will stage, music, fine food, Hog Roast & BBQ and many other things to occupy the family & Children.
Please promote this to everyone you know so we have a weekend to remember.......
If you can help contact;
Alex Wells on 07922-65460
Ross Mackerron on 07984-400289
Nick Kidby on 07774-264356

High Wycombe Judo Club - Glen Gavin
High Wycombe Judo Club will host the 2008 British Olympic and Paralympic Judo squad on Wednesday 18th June from 7.30pm until about 10pm. The bar will be open and you will be able to watch in comfort from the gallery a very intensive full squad training session.
This would be a great opportunity for you to admire one of the finest sports facilities for miles and appreciate just how closely the two clubs could work. The relationship between the judo club and the rugby club is now firmly moving forward with over 50 boys and girls attending 'judo for rugby' sessions at the club for the next three Sundays which should produce some interesting early season challenges for our opposition.
No entry fee on Wednesday, just turn up buy a pint or two and enjoy.

Club AGM - Rossco
The Club AGM takes place on Thursday 12th June at 8pm.
As incoming Chairman of the club, I'd like to ask all club members to attend if possible. In recent years we've seen a dwindling number attending, especially senior players. Some have mentioned that this may be due to the fact that, because of our constitution, there has been little chance to debate issues on the night. I want this to change and will be opening the floor after the formalities of the meeting to invite comments, suggestions and questions alike.
Please make the effort, it's your club and I want to hear from you as to how it should be run. Baz and Chad would like to speak to the senior players at 7.30pm, so please get there for that if you fancy putting your boots on this year.
Let's make an effort to attend and start building for the future.
Ross MacKerron
Vice Chairman
